Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of activity. I’m in moving limbo again!! Yeahaa!! Seriously though, I’m moving to L.A. this weekend so until then I’m kind of living out of my backpack which is pretty fun.
In other news I have a show at the Salt Lake City Library, and the opening reception for it is tonight! Ill post a picture or two from that. :>
Hey! I just saw your post about your card deck. I've been wanting to illustrate a deck of cards myself - do you mind me asking where you order yours from? Thanks!
Oh yeah no problem! I use http://www.makeplayingcards.com and was super pleased with the quality of their cards and the print job. They did print a little warmer than my original file, but not dark at all, and I swear that almost made the cards look even better! haha They are a great price and have all sorts of cards to pick from. You can even make custom boxes and what not. Good luck with your card deck! So many illustrations go into making one but it can end up so dang awesome!
Hey! I just became a huge fan of art x) I saw some of your art for Radical Face! Did you do one for The Crooked Kind, Ghost Towns, or We All Go The Same? :') If notx do you plan on drawing more Radical Face art?
Hello! I love Radical Face. Ben Coopers music is amazing, and it’s inspired me so so so much. I might end up drawing a few more song themed illustrations…but i’m not really planning any. I do have a half finished one for the Crooked Kind that I might finish up later. So I guess, keep an eye out! :>
If I were to put some recent sketchbooks up for sale would anyone be interested?
I got a call about my laptop and it has a logic board failure. :/ along with a few other things it’s gonna take a pretty penny to fix so I’m hoping to sell some sketchbooks to help pay for the cost. I’ll post up some pictures soon.
Thoughts from sdcc. I’ve met so many great people here that have really inspired me to step up my game. Got some great critique from artists and know kind of what direction to start working towards.
But I think some of the best advice I got this year was from a great guy I sat next to when volunteering. We talking about passion and art and skill and being nervous. He told me that it’s fine to be nervous, but don’t ever let that stop you from talking and showing your work and meeting new people, or even doing things that seem scary. You can’t ever backtrack! You only grow from doing hard things. Even if the person ends up not really jiving with your work, that’s ok!! You’re not in it to please everyone, because that’s an impossible task. Do what you want to do and show the world!
I really needed to hear that right now. Wonderful advice.
Hey guys! I’ll be peacing out for the week to head to SDCC! It’s going to be such an adventure, and I wanted to know if any of you are going. If you are, look around for me! Beeecaaauusseeeeee I’ll be carrying around some free prints. Yep, you heard me right! If you run into me and ask for a print, I’ll let you have one! I’ll be carrying around about seven different prints, so you’ll get to choose! come find me! I have a bright orange “cartoon” bag and look like this….
